Amazon FreeTime now includes kid-friendly audiobooks
Listen up, kids.
Starting today, Amazon FreeTime Unlimited is expanding to include over 1,000 kid-friendly Audible books. Stories like Peter Pan, Rip Van Winkle, Snow Queen, and Beauty and the Beast are up for grabs via a free software update. Of course, the service is available via partnership with Audible, though it won't cost anything extra.
FreeTime Unlimited gives kids access to age-appropriate content. That means movies, TV shows, books, educational apps, and games. There are also radio stations and playlists. It isn't just for kids, though. It's peace of mind for parents. You get easy-to-use parental controls that let you set screen time limits, choose educational goals, filter content, and manage web browsing.
You can sign up for a free one-month trial of FreeTime Unlimited, and after that, the service costs only $3 per month if you're a Prime member. Without a membership, the service bumps up to $5 per month. It can be used on Kindles, iOS devices, and Android devices. Alternatively, if your youngsters don't have a screen of their own yet, you might want to invest in a Fire HD 8 Kids Edition Tablet, which comes with a year of FreeTime Unlimited and a two-year no-worries guarantee. If your kid throws the tablet out the window, spills an entire gallon of juice on it, or decides to use it as a trampoline, you'll be covered.
