Age of Wonders: Planetfall 'Revelations' expansion introduces ancient threats (update)

Today, Paradox Interactive and Triumph Studios announced ​the first expansion for Age of Wonders: Planetfall. Planetfall is a new strategy game from the team behind critically-acclaimed experiences like Overlord. The ​Revelations expansion launches on November 19 for $15 and is available within the ​season pass.​ ​As expected, it's coming to Xbox One and PC.

If you're a fan of Planetfall's lore, you're really going to like Revelations. The download introduces ancient Heritor Secret Technology, new campaign missions, and location mechanics. The trailer provides more details on what to expect.

According to the press release Windows Central received, Revelations​ sets in motion the return of the entombed Es'Teq dynasty, whose Heritor descendants aim to use ancient technology and reincarnate billions of followers across the galaxy, establishing divine rule.

Some of the other new features are listed below.

  • Explore more than 30 mysterious sites filled with traps and powerful enemies.
  • New campaign missions give you more than 10 hours of new content across two campaigns.
  • New enemies and challenges to your empire.

Lennart Sas, co-founder of Triumph Studios and Game Director of ​Age of Wonders: Planetfall, said the following about Revelations.

This first expansion allows players to explore deeper into the ​Planetfall ​universe, uncovering how the collapse of the Star Union empire has awakened beings from its mysterious past. With the introduction of Heritor Secret Technology, NPCs, and Essence, ​Revelations is a new chapter for ​Planetfall ​that will affect the rise and fall of empires to come.
