Civilization meets XCOM in 'Age of Wonders: Planetfall,' preorder here
Another challenger enters the arena.
A few months ago, Paradox Interactive — the publisher behind games like Cities: Skylines and Surviving Mars — announced Age of Wonders: Planetfall. Age of Wonders: Planetfall is a new strategy game from Triumph Studios, the team behind critically-acclaimed experiences like Overlord.
According to the publisher, the game should bring turn-based empire building and tactical combat to a new setting. You emerge from the dark age of a fallen galactic empire to craft a new future for your people. While exploring planetary ruins and encountering other factions that have each evolved in their own way, you'll unravel the history of a shattered race.
Age of Wonders: Planetfall went up for digital preorder on Xbox One, and is expected to launch on August 6. There are a few versions available for preorder, but the base experience only costs $50. However, if you want the season pass and other items, you'll have to pay more.
We can't wait to get our hands on Age of Wonders: Planetfall in a few months. Hopefully the game will be a polished experience even on consoles due to the limitations of a controller.
