MechWarrior 5 for PC goes up for preorder on the Epic Games Store

What you need to know

  • MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is the latest entry in the cult classic series.
  • The game is coming to PC on December 10.
  • In MechWarrior 5, you'll build, manage, and guide your own mercenary unit through a multi-year campaign.
  • You can preorder it right now through the Epic Games Store.

I have a question for you. Do you like mechs? Have you ever wanted to have even more spectacular battles than Titanfall 2? Well, now's your chance because MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries just went up for preorder on PC through the Epic Games Store. The editions range all the way from $50 to $60, so choose wisely. The Digital Deluxe Edition comes with the soundtrack and much more.

According to developer Pirahna Games, MechWarrior 5 is modeled after MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, granting players the freedom to run their campaigns how they choose. In MechWarrior 5, you'll build, manage, and guide your own mercenary unit through a multi-year campaign during the sprawling Third and Fourth Succession Wars.

You'll face complicated situations with no perfect solution because you have to choose which contracts to accept, wherein the galaxy to direct your attention, and how to balance repairs or upgrades with maintaining a unit's limited resources.

MechWarrior 5 is scheduled to launch on December 10. It looks like the title has been pushed back because we received word a few months ago that it was coming on September 10. There are rumors that the game is coming to Xbox One, but nothing concrete has been revealed so far. Maybe it'll land on Project Scarlett. Who knows? If you want to buy it on PC, you can preorder it here.
