Injustice 2 going free to play this weekend for Xbox Live Gold members

Microsoft is gearing up to launch another free play weekend for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. This weekend, Gold members will be able to get their hands on Injustice 2 from December 14 through December 18.

Injustice 2, the follow-up to 2013's Injustice: God's Among Us, is a fighting game that takes place in the DC superhero universe. The game picks up where its predecessor left off, pitting Batman against Superman's regime in a fight for Earth's existence. The game include's an epic story mode and competitive multiplayer, as well as a roster made up of DC's biggest heroes and villains. Of course, since a number of other characters from outside the DC universe are headed to the game as well, including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

During the free play weekend, the first three chapters of Injustice 2's story mode will be playable. Additionally, the full multiplayer experience will be available, including all multiplayer and online modes and characters (except for DLC characters). Injustice 2 will also be available at a 50 percent discount from Microsoft for the duration of the weekend as well, just in case you want to pick the game up full time. All of your saved progress will carry over if you buy in.
