Astroneer, Ark: Survival Evolved and Middle-earth: Shadow of War get Xbox One X patches at launch

Updated November 6, 2017: The Xbox One X patch for Middle-earth: Shadow of War is now live, adding enhancements for the console just ahead of its release.

However, there are a few fan-favorites which have yet to receive upgrades. Many developers didn't make it clear if they would patch their games for the console before or after launch. Luckily, the teams behind Ark: Survival Evolved, Astroneer, and Middle-earth: Shadow of War shared when their games would support Xbox One X.

According to a post by Brendan Wilson who currently works on Astroneer, the game will be updated on the console's launch day, November 7, 2017. Astroneer is a popular game where you explore different planets, mine resources, and construct stations. The patch has to simply pass certification.

Ark: Survival Evolved's Xbox One X patch should hit the console a day sooner. According to a post by Jeremy Stieglitz, the co-founder of Studio Wildcard, the update has also passed certification and should be out on November 6, 2017. Aside from 1440p 30 FPS and 1080p 60 FPS modes, the update adds rentable servers.

Lastly, Middle-earth: Shadow of War should be upgraded for Xbox One X on November 6, 2017 too. This information was revealed in a conversation between Gamerheadquarters and Warner Bros. Interactive. Middle-earth: Shadow of War is set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It's an open world action role-playing game that continues the original narrative of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Players forge a new Ring of Power and take on the Dark Lord Sauron in Mordor.

It's great to see that these popular games are getting patches right when the Xbox One X launches. The Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made. The device features 6 TFLOPS of processing power and 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM. In addition to that, the Xbox One X also contains a 4K Blu-ray player and offers a faster hard drive. The device is currently available to preorder for $499 or equivalent depending on your region.
