During its Next @ Acer event today, Acer unveiled the new Swift 3x, a thin-and-light laptop packed with modern chips and features. The 14-inch laptop is meant to appeals to creative professionals while also offering enough horsepower to get some light gaming in.

The highlight of the Swift 3x is what's powering it: Intel's latest 11th Gen chips. Acer isn't alone here, as PC manufacturers across the spectrum are launching new notebooks with 11th Gen Intel chips on board. But Acer has packed them into a body that weighs just over three pounds with a price starting at $900.

With 11th Gen Intel Core i7 and i5 processors, you also get Intel's new Iris Xe MAX graphics, which should offer pretty competent GPU horsepower. That's paired with a 14-inch 1080p display that covers 72 percent of the NTSC color gamut with an 84 percent screen-to-body ratio.

Beyond the chips powering the Swift 3x, Acer has also included a good mix of modern connectivity options. You'll get Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 wireless connections here. For ports, you're looking at Thunderbolt 4, USB-C and USB 3.2 Gen 2. When your battery is running low, the Swift 3x includes quick charging to give you up to four hours of battery life on a 30 minute charge.

The Acer Swift 3x is expected to launch over the coming months in regions around the world. You can expect it to arrive in December in North America, November in EMEA markets, and later in October in China. Pricing starts at $900.
